Whipple Consulting Engineers has established a reputation for high quality work to meet the needs of a diverse clientele.  Taken as a whole, much of our work involves balancing the complex relationships of the natural environment, human needs, and landscape design.  Our emphasis is on the broad, increasingly complex issues of land use and design which encourages appropriate use of land resources and enhances the environment.

Our services range from initial land use feasibility studies, concept site planning, and preparation of environmental impact statements through formulation of design themes and landscape master plans, bid documents, and construction management.  Whipple Consulting Engineers takes pride in providing personalized and competent professional services, utilizing the combined experience of a dedicated senior level staff.

At Whipple Consulting Engineers (WCE) we are constantly changing and improving, as does a kaleidoscope, in response to our clients, the environment, public agencies, community issues and public concerns.  However, some elements will never change…our commitment, integrity, expertise and experience.  We strive to maintain our reputation of integrity, technical expertise and organizational diversity by our proactive approach to project management and client relations, while providing innovative designs for long term value in a timely manner.

With staff operating in the Northwest since 1992, WCE has developed the appropriate experience in response to the needs of our clients in both the public and private sectors.  We have sought our experienced professionals to join our multi-faceted consulting firm in order to offer a comprehensive approach to solve our client’s project requirements.  This focused approach provides for timely schedules, project continuity, superior designs and significant savings and convenience for our clients.

Whipple Consulting Engineers offers in-house professional services in the areas of Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, Transportation Planning & Engineering, Stormwater Design & Management, Construction Management, Environmental Studies and Geotechnical Engineering. 

Whipple Consulting Engineers is a small sized firm with a staff of 20 engineers, surveyors and technicians.  We are large enough to complete major projects, yet small enough to ensure excellent client communication and access to the Project Manager.  We have extensive experience in negotiating with regulatory and review agencies, business leaders and the general public concerning community and environmental issues and consistently seek mutually beneficial solutions.  We find that no problem is too difficult if all sides of an issue will “agree to agree”.  Our “Kaleidoscope of Experience” has allowed Whipple Consulting Engineers to successfully complete over 200 projects of varying size and magnitude during the past 2 years.

Upon a full understanding of the client’s project and needs, in concept as well as materially and financially, a realistic and accurate proposal is presented.  Change orders and cost overruns can occur when a full understanding of the clients needs are not understood, however, at WCE they are a rare exception because we take the time to analyze the details and understand the situation up front.  After execution of the work authorization, a Principal will assign a Project Manager who will assume complete responsibility for the project.  The Project Manager then assembles a team whose technical expertise will be tailored to your unique project.  For our private development clients, Project Managers act as a liaison between the development staff, project investors, land owners and regulatory agencies.  For our municipal clients, our project managers act as an extension of staff by providing close client contact, project documentation, meeting coordination, project updates, coordination with other agencies and by providing technical expertise and guidance both to staff and the municipal clients regarding the project at hand.

WCE Project Managers possess high standards, effective team leadership and exceptional design experience.  They are skilled in quality control, budget and schedule conformance and the regulatory and reviewing agency processes.  Project Managers are highly accessible to our clients and staff, yet still maintain both field and office presence.  We have mandatory Monday morning meetings every week with Project managers and Principals to ensure that available resources are used appropriately so that project schedules can be met and kept within budget and to advise the staff of any recent project scope changes.  Whipple Consulting Engineers has created in-house design and plan preparation checklists to make sure that nothing is overlooked.
